Private Scholarships

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Florida Prepaid College Foundation Private Donor.  Donors may establish their own criteria and purchase scholarships through the Prepaid Foundation with 100% private sector donations.

The Florida Prepaid College Foundation has many private donors, including community groups, businesses, hospitals and churches that are making higher education a reality for students in their communities.

Are you part of a team that would like to build your own scholarship program to meet your dreams of helping children have greater access to higher education? Contact us and we can help you build a custom private scholarship program – you dream it and we’ll help you achieve it!

How to Get Started:

  • First time Donors will submit certification that their organization is a state or local government or an organization described in s. 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code.
  • Develop your private scholarship criteria and determine the type of Prepaid Plan you would like to award to the student(s).
  • Submit your check, list of purchases and written agreement to the terms and conditions.
  • Select student(s) to receive scholarship award(s).

Scholarships purchased through the Florida Prepaid College Foundation must be paid in advance by providing a lump sum payment to the Foundation prior to the student being assigned the scholarship.

It’s easy to get started creating higher education opportunities within your community!

Once the Donor organization or individual is approved by the Board, the Donor may secure scholarships by sending a written letter indicating:

  • Number of scholarships
  • Florida Prepaid Plan types
  • Age or grade criteria
  • A copy of the Private Donor Purchase Calculator
  • A check for the total cost of the scholarships, plus a $50.00 application fee for each scholarship purchased

Scholarships, purchased through the Florida Prepaid College Foundation, must be paid in advance by providing a lump sum payment to the Foundation.
