The In-Demand Challenge Match career track scholarship program empowers students and assists Florida businesses with a ready pipeline of educated personnel to meet the workforce needs of the future.

The Florida Prepaid College Foundation partnered with Champions For Learning in Naples, Florida, to pilot the In-Demand Career Scholars Program. The In-Demand Scholarship program selected its “inaugural” class of four students to receive a 2-Year Florida Prepaid College Plan Scholarship with a private match secured by the Champions for Learning d/b/a the Collier Education Foundation located in Naples, Florida.  The program has been extended to Education Foundation of Sarasota County, which awarded their first scholarships in spring of 2019.

The Florida Prepaid College Foundation accepts scholarship proposals from donor organizations, and will offer a dollar-for-dollar match for accepted proposals.

Important information for you to know:

Easy to use – When you are ready for college you should let your donor know where you will attend classes.  Florida Prepaid will pay your college or university directly, making the process easy for you!

Plan accepted at any qualified educational institution – Your scholarship is designed to be flexible and allows students (beneficiaries) to attend the post-secondary institution of their choice regardless of the type of plan, unless otherwise indicated by the donor at the time the beneficiary is assigned to their scholarship. The Florida Prepaid College Plan may be used at any eligible educational institution as defined in s. 529 of the Internal Revenue Code.

The In-Demand Challenge Match scholarship program is designed for high school students in 10th and 11th grade who have demonstrated a financial need and a strong aptitude for academics. They must also possess the commitment to extend their learning experience to after-school education and Career Prep training programs with the Donor organization.
