Path to Prosperity

Welcome to the Path to Prosperity Scholarship Program
FPCF and Florida Chamber Foundation

This important program is led by the Florida Prepaid College Foundation and the Florida Chamber Foundation in support of the Chamber’s Florida Equality of Opportunity Initiative. We are excited to help you learn more about how you can be a part of the solution to fight childhood poverty in Florida.

Your contribution will be matched dollar-for-dollar by the Florida Prepaid College Foundation, doubling the impact of your efforts, to fund Florida Prepaid College Plan scholarships for Florida’s most economically disadvantaged students in grades 9-12*.

  • Education inequity is one of the 10 root causes of generational poverty identified by the Florida Chamber Foundation. 829,342 Florida children are living in poverty and half of those children live in 15% of Florida’s zip codes.
  • The scholarship program aims to reduce childhood poverty in our state by providing a pathway to college for students in the most poverty-stricken zip codes in the state.
  • Poverty is one of the monumental societal problems that can seem too overwhelming to tackle. But the Path to Prosperity Scholarship Program is built on our belief, shared with the Florida Chamber Foundation, that we can make a difference for Florida’s children, one college scholarship at a time.

Join us in the fight against childhood poverty in Florida and provide a pathway to higher education for our state’s most deserving students.

* In the first year of the program, priority consideration will be given to students in grades 11 and 12, as they will most immediately benefit from the college scholarship.

Florida Prepaid College Plan scholarships will be awarded to students in grades 9-12* in priority zip codes.

The Florida Prepaid College Foundation and the Florida Chamber Foundation will work with key local education leaders and organizations to identify and award scholarships to deserving high school students.

  • Eligible students in priority zip codes must meet scholarship criteria, which will include:
    • Grades 9 – 12*
    • Crime-free and drug-free
    • Economically disadvantaged
    • Demonstrate exemplary promising efforts in their classrooms and communities while overcoming significant challenges in their life.
  • Students must use the scholarship at a public college or university in Florida within six years of high school graduation and Plans cannot be transferred to another student.
  • Students must be a Florida resident or a resident alien at the time of selection and award
