The Florida Prepaid College Foundation announces a new partnership with the Eda and Cliff Viner Community Scholars Foundation. The partnership will grant a 4-Year Florida University Plan to a local Boca Raton or Delray Beach student as part of the inaugural Viner Florida Prepaid Legacy Match Scholarship. The arrangement includes a match of funds totaling $26,000 from both the Viner Community Scholars Foundation and the Florida Prepaid College Foundation.
Congratulations to Daron Lauray, the first scholarship recipient awarded under this new partnership. Mr. Lauray will be paired with a mentor and will be supported by Viner Community Partners to help ensure a successful journey into higher education. Mr. Lauray graduated from Spanish River Community High School and plans to attend Florida State University to major in Health Management. He aspires to attend Harvard Medical School and become a cardiothoracic surgeon.
“We hope that this scholarship will open the door for Daron to achieve his college and career aspirations,” said Florida Prepaid College Foundation Director Cynthia O’Connell.
As the 501(c)(3), direct support organization for the Florida Prepaid College Board, the Foundation helps support our shared goal of making college more affordable and accessible for more Floridians.
