Florida 529 Savings Plan Scholarship Program

The month of May celebrates 529 College Savings Day, and for the first time the Foundation hosted the Florida 529 Savings Plan Scholarship Program. Modeled after the Florida Prepaid Scholarship Program, Florida families had the opportunity to win a $529 contribution to a Florida 529 Savings Plan. The scholarship was aimed at educating families about the Florida 529 Savings Plan and enhancing financial literacy.

The winners of the 2015-2016 Florida 529 Savings Plan Scholarship Program are S. Bauman, Edgewater; J. Chalkey, Ft. Lauderdale; J. Corona, Gainesville; A. Miller, Stuart; A. Mowatt, Weston; S. Nelson, Lakeland; S. Turasky, Cape Coral; and T. Williams, Orange Park. The Foundation contributed $4,232 to purchase scholarships for these families.

Requirements / Eligibility

Open to legal residents of the state of Florida over the age of 18 with children or grandchildren between the ages of newborn through 8th grade that have fully and satisfactorily completed the scholarship entry requirements and are otherwise eligible to participate at time of entry.
